Africa is overflowing with talent. Walk through any neighbourhood in Nairobi, Mombasa or Kisumu and you'll hear it — melodies hummed at the duka, bars written in notebooks, choruses sung in church on Sunday. The talent has never been the problem. Access has.
A proper studio session can cost thousands of shillings an hour. Then you need a producer, a mixing engineer, a mastering engineer, cover art, and finally a distributor willing to take you seriously.
